097. New Practice, New Digs: A Conversation with Ken Gilbertson

With Ryan away with work obligations, Garreth sits down this week to talk with painter and friend of the show, Ken Gilbertson. Ken’s gallery, The Hatchback Gallery, was stolen earlier this year, leaving him without a job and without a studio. We catch up with Ken to hear about how his practice has had to change, what is next for the Gallery, and how he has been getting by without his beloved Honda.

You can follow Ken at the Hatchback Gallery website, and you can support his next round of work through buying an album or a Ken Gilbertson Band shirt. And if you have a listing for a hatchback to send him, just let us know!

Our award-winning film centers on the art scene in Richmond, Virginia, with a focus on Oregon Hill native and contractor Don Childress, who–to the surprise of many–has an incredible contemporary art collection. This collection includes work from Francisco Clemente, Ron Johnson, and Bill Fisher to name just a few. Check out more on Vimeo!
