“Hey did you hear about the new person in accounting?” It’s no big deal, right? We’ve all done it. Gossip seems like the most common and most benign thing you could do. After all, the world has real problems that need to be dealt with, so something as small as widespread lying, behind-the-scenes manipulation, and cultural toxicity can just be ignored, right?
This week Ryan and Garreth sit down to talk about gossip and how it can make any group–whether it’s a studio, a classroom, a university, or a gallery–a ticking time bomb. There is a lot more at stake when we just do a little talking behind someone’s back, and it likely has a much further reach than we like to admit.

Our award-winning film centers on the art scene in Richmond, Virginia, with a focus on Oregon Hill native and contractor Don Childress, who–to the surprise of many–has an incredible contemporary art collection. This collection includes work from Francisco Clemente, Ron Johnson, and Bill Fisher to name just a few. Check out more on Vimeo!
