088. Rethink: Poverty – Part 1

There are a lot of tough subjects in the art world, and one of them is how we deal with poverty. While there are organizations in various sectors that are doing fantastic work to fight poverty, the art world has had a difficult relationship with how it approaches the economically disadvantaged. Often times, the work of ennobling and humanization of those suffering under poverty has been pushed to the margins for non-profits or special one-off projects.

This week Ryan and Garreth sit down to talk about some of the issues associated with marginalization within the art community. In a just society, everyone is addressed and included, but far too often this list doesn’t include those living in poverty. We think that should change.
